Thankful for…
When it comes to the holiday seasons, I find mixed emotions. One side of me thinks this is great…time off, get to see my family, lots of food to eat, gifts to open and time for some football and long naps.
Then the other side of me starts to think about how many of us find this time of year very hard to handle. Reasons for this vary, all alone, family members passed away, hard times financially, bad family history and the list goes on. So, how should I be thinking and feeling this time of year?
The answer is simple…thankful!
Why? Because I have a wife and two sons that love me no matter what kind of jerk I have been to them in the past…I am thankful for that kind of love….
Why? Because I know that no matter how hard life gets…and it does get hard at times…I know that God is on my side…maybe better said, I am on His side. That means I have hope of a life that is full of His goodness and grace…even when times grow hard…His promises remain true for me…I am thankful...
Why? Because God has given me the honor of being part of His church in Jupiter FL…Journey Church. I am truly thankful for all of the people that I am meeting every week…thankful those who have and are riding out the storm of change that God is bringing to our lives everyday.
Thankful for those individuals who treat me and my family like friends and not just pastors…Thankful that we are seeing peoples lives impacted by the love of God…thankful that we know the reasons why we give thanks during the seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Lastly, God has opened a door that all of us will be able to participate in over the next four weeks…it will be a life changing journey. The only way to find out about it is to come to Journey Church this weekend and find out how you will be used in such away, that many people will be thankful for your willingness to be a blessing.
Thankful for all of this and more...
The Conspiracy starts…November 30th, 2008
