Journey Growing?

How is your Journey with God Growing?

Slow down and think on this question…

… when we slow down…which is not very often…we find that we are missing out on the simple pleasures of life: hanging out with friends, family, our wives, husbands, kids or grandkids, or just enjoying the day that we have been blessed with. It is hard to slow down sometimes because life is just too complicated.

Who makes it that way? What is so important that we can’t just enjoy the journey that God has put in front us, why can’t we just make life a little simpler? We can, but it takes clear focus, alignment and movement to a commitment to change the way life is going.

Think on this. What if we decided that the most important issues in life are: our personal relationship with God, our personal relationships with those we care about, the Body of Christ and serving others like Jesus did? Sounds to simple...right? When our focus is clear it takes a lot of the other clutter out of the way.

So, what should be our main focus? You know what I am going to say…living and growing in our personal relationship with God. All the other areas of life will come into aligment when we are growing in our journey with Him... our focus is like… honed in. We will know that God is on our side, that He loves us and has a plan for our lives…how cool is that. God is focused!

Then as we walk in God’s grace and love they become a part of our lives, then we are able to take the next step…we love others. This is the way that God intended it to be…we love one another as he loved us…taking what we are getting from God and sharing it with others sounds like a focused life to me.

Lastly, we all take the time and serve the community the way Jesus did. He took care of many felt needs in the community: caring for the sick, feeding the hungry, bringing healing to peoples lives, forgiving sins and sharing and living out the "GOOD NEWS": he did all of this so that others might know the love of God. Sounds pretty focused to me, how about too you?

Journey Church, as we get more focused on God’s Purposes and Plans, our alignment with His will be clearer than ever. Once we are there, we will commit to His will even more as individuals and as the body of Christ. I believe that God is making us into a Church that will truly:
Passionately Love Him…Unselfishly Love Others and
Compassionately serve the community.
Let’s be the church this week and invest & invite someone to come experience God in worship and in the sharing of God’s Word.

Be still and know that I am God…GOD
that means…slow down and listen for awhile.
