If you were at Journey this weekend you know what the question is all about. We try to live our lives in such a way that most of the time we are just a can of tuna. What?
Tuna are born to be free! Tuna are to swim, to move, to reproduce and enjoy the vastness of God’s underwater world. Now, I don’t know how tuna think…but I am pretty sure that they don’t think I want to live my life so that I can end up in a can! No, they were created to be free, free to be all that God created them to be. I feel like I am on a Wild Kingdom episode.
The point is this. We live our lives in such a way that our souls are cut into small pieces: work, money, religion, family, worries, pains, and every other piece we can think of. Then we call it life and figuratively we get canned and we settle for it. Remember that God did not create you to live like this.
Jesus said in John 8:36, “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” It is for freedom that Christ set us free…not be a can of SelfKist, but to be able to live in God’s preferred future and plans…which by the way is always in freedom from sin and shame.
Have a great and blessed day and throw some seeds this week, you never know who’s ground (soul) might be ready to receive and grow. God Bless, bring a friend this weekend!
